Purple Sectors was founded by leading commentator, presenter and broadcaster Chris McCarthy to help young people with epilepsy steer a pathway into motorsport.
A seizure at 17 ended Chris’s dream of becoming a Formula 1 driver. He pivoted to a successful career as a national and international motor racing commentator, staying in the sport he loves. Through Purple Sectors, he now sets out to inspire young people with epilepsy to chase their passions despite the challenges a diagnosis can bring.
The cause is backed by recognisable names in motorsport broadcasting, including Jennie Gow and Neil Cole — with the aim of raising awareness and helping overcome the barriers young people with epilepsy face.
